Every week you will have an opportunity to bid on new sponsors for your team to represent. Unlike most auctions, you are placing a bid for the Lowest Amount you are willing to take to have them represent you. For example, Hendricks Hockey Shop is looking to for a 3 week partner at a minimum of 2 million but a maximum of 4 million. You bid 2.5 million for a centre ice ad, but another team in your league bids 2.4 million for a centre ice ad. Hendricks Hockey Shop will sign with the other team, because they want to save as much money as possible.

A final example, you offer 2.1 million for a boards ad and your Boards Visual Impact is at 70%. The next lowest offer by a team in your league is 2.61 million for a centre ice ad and their Centre Ice Visual Impact is at 90%. Hendricks divides your offer by your boards visual impact and gets a price of 30 000 per 1% of visual impact. They multiply your opponents offer by their centre ice visual impact and get 29 000. Hendricks Hockey Shop will sign with your opponent. Even though the number on their offer was higher (2.61 vs. 2.1 million), the visual impact of their ad placement is cheaper for Hendricks overall.
