Could someone tell me which of the follow 2 training setups works better with regards to training results and injuries.

1. Set intensity to 100% and build in 15% of rest in the training schedule
2. Set intensity to 85% and build the training schedule to 100%

Thanks

As I know, most of the managers are using the second option (including me). Btw I don't think it makes any sence to buy 17yo players with you training and regeneration facilities, those guys won't be training much until you got both to at least 100%, no matter how much ice-time you'll give them.

Training intensity is for bench player, for roster it's automatic. So if you set rest to training schedule, you'll be losing training, as you can't set match to 100%. So option 2.

I believe it's about energy consumption (for benched players), and in this case no difference if you got TA and RA at the same level. same as most managers I preffer to set intensity at 85%.

Is this actually the best way to train players to max potential?
I have just been drilling them at 100% intensity and 100% training with no rest.

What are the negative effects of doing it this way?

You lose energy on players that aren't on ice and the training gain, once you put them on ice. (if player is substitute, skills will also me lowered by the energy loss%)

Also - significant energy loss will result in greater chance of injury.

Try intensity at 88%

Hi friends,

I hope that intensity 85% is the best thing... 88% is too much, I think so! ;-) (Y) <3 See you soon! ^_^ :-)

personally, i don't think the training intensity should even be in the game anymore. It's just a way for experienced players to sabotage players' energy and another thing for inexperienced players to be confused about.

agreed. Common trick is getting young players who aren't quite good enough, running their energy down and getting enhanced training/AI, then selling for a cheesy profit.

Has anyone tried to train with an intensity greater than 85% and put the player to play once a week? The player regains energy but does he gain from training?

you can't really 'game the system'. If he plays enough that he can't fully recover his energy to 100 then he still won't.
