Hanusch 11:18:05, 22.07.21 So much whining. Unbelievable. Last season the draft was great in my league. This year it is not. Who cares? Why do you guys always want things to be super easy?

There's exactly no skill behind any of this, though.

Is it too much to ask to have 3-4 players in every draft worth even drafting?
Honestly, if I don't have a top four pick in a given year, I just don't even bother. It's another mostly pointless 'feature'.

meant to say top three pick.

u don't bother if you're not a top 3 or 4 pick? You don't want free 90/max-2 players? I'd love to see the system deeper where we're assinging scouts and scouting different attributes of a player like in the nhl games franchise mode where we don't ever have the complete picture of a player...but to say the draft feature is pointless is kind of ridiculous. It's one of the best and only interactive features in the game at present moment.

I view draft as a place for U-20 players. For max/max players, you need to be lucky from your own youth school.

I'm not sure if i'm just being lucky or not, but I often see 97+/max-2 players. Last season i had at least 3 players in both my drafts in A and B team.

With the removal of shared scouting, no. Absolutely not worth the effort. A 90/-2P player even as a '+' loyalty (ha!) is worth about 10 bucks on the market.

Yes, worthless.

In my league, there are usually many players like 85+/max-1 or 95+/max-2 not drafted at all. And still, you can have really nice players with AI around 430 from them.
If you flood drafts with at least 3-4 90+/max-1 in every league, you'll get in the point, that people will look just for 95+/max-1, because anything worse would be worthless for them.
I remember times, when players like 85/max-1 were top in this game, yet there are so many players with top q/p every season now, that many managers consider anything bellow 90/max-1 as worthless.

Perhaps this wouldn't be the case if this game wasn't so focused on money management, and spent more time on the hockey aspect.

Every single time I build - I have to decide twelve seasons later when it's time to sell while they are still high value. Why? Because you lose loads of money running high training facilities to MAKE those players that high in AI.

The economic formula of this game is crippling to most managers who will never, ever post here. You rely on your youth school to produce players of financial value to tread water. Which, with all the stinking -3's in the game, is extremely difficult.

i've never drafted a -3 in the history of the draft.

I couldn't say for sure, since I unloaded all of my players off of both teams last season. I can safely say that my youth school - when I sent players to my old U23 team - were about 50% -3's and -2s made up the second highest population after that.

It's impossible for me to say specifically for the draft itself. If I didn't have a U23 team and a player was - loyalty at 17, I sold them for what little I could get.

I agree with this I have to say.
