Training and recovery departments - Sweet spot
 Page: 1

Hi everyone.
What do you guys think is the "sweet spot" in terms of training and recovery departmens? 150? 200?
I am referring to being economical efficient. Train players and then sell them.

Cheers.

from my point of view 150 isn't enough ... around 190 would be much better , 200 its really well.. 180 as minimum

and, of course :)

Hi drago

Thank you.

I've struggled with this myself, since starting a U23 team. I settled on 220 when looking at the cost scaling. I also run my regen slightly lower, because I don't overplay my guys on friendly days.

It generally works out fine.

5-10 point differece between TP and RP is ok also in case of high icetime 😉

By overplaying you mean 4 lines instead of 3?

What I do is set my first line to get a lot less minutes on the weekend games.
Also, I have a 50% training/50% rest program in case any of them get down below 90 energy during the week.

So, say it's Friday and star player X is at 88% energy.
On Saturday he barely plays, and I set him to 50% training.
This gets him very close to - or back up to 100.

Now if you've got a U20 player you have to be a little more careful at managing energy during the Cup season.

It is well known that the training and regen facilities do not need to be of equal value in order to achieve mostly full recovery of the players.

But does the value of the regeneration facility also have an influence on the amount and length of injuries? I amonly talking about players of full energy, not about those with low energy values.

Thanks!

Not that we know of. I've proposed something on beta to make regeneration facilities make more sense.

Yeah, this would be logical. Better facilities, lower probability of extended injury time.
I wouldn't want to say you'll get 'less injuries', but 'less severe ones'

From the training point of view, how can I improve?
I try to train the best out of all my players. I play with 4 lines. My training intensity is at 90%. I have 100% training in a skill or two ( no rest ).

Training intensity only affects players who don't play.

Remove 4th line and let the players play special teams

If I remove the 4th line they will play more and be more tired. Doesn't that mean they will train less?

Thanks.

No. If they play more they will also train more. And you get the most out of the training during the competition or playoffs. So make them tired during competition and compensate that during friendly games by giving the other players more icetime.

Imagine that as a motivation question: the young players train more, if they receive the confidence of the trainer and have a lot of icetime.

So what are the "sweet spots" for training and recovery departments if you play with 27y+ players, but you still want the most that they can at this age?
