 Idea - New Countries

Ok - I would be a big fan of all countries having access to their owns leagues, etc. Overall, I want to be more inclusive in the game. I've suggested adding new countries before, and it was politely rejected. I understand.

My idea involves the non-natural youth that has only been recently appearing in the youth school. That is, there is a percentage of one's youth school that show up already not from your country.

I thought the distribution of these players specifically can have another single entry, other, when chosen, would then again choose randomly from a distribution of players from countries not currently in the game.

For example, should a computer pick a new youth school entry not from one's country, instead of selecting from only the other 44 countries, it adds the 45th of "other". If this 45th option is selected, the computer creates a player to fill this entry from a country not currently in the game and based on a distribution relating to, say, country population.

It would allow a new novelty to have players from a broader range of countries. Although not bringing in the full experience for users whose countries leagues don't exist in the game, it will allow them a chance to pull together players from the country over time.

The top ten countries by population not currently in the game would be China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Brazil, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Philippines, and Egypt. Suggested new countries in the past such as Greece, Turkey, and South Korea would actually have players in the game, and a youth school find from the Northern Mariana Islands would be truly a singular gem.

(If you think this to be a good idea, and need help, I have experience and would be willing to help out. I could also dig around for the other flags.)

Brazil is in the game, actually. ;)

Overall, I don't think his is necessary...

Oops on Brazil. I wrote this really fast before having tommake breakfast for the kids. Sure, maybe not necessary, but a step towards more inclusion.

if we want new countries, first i would recommended to have more managers in hockey coutries ..there is a big potential ...coutries where the ice hockey is really popular :
Sweden
Finland
Norway
Finland
Germany
Swiss
France
Austria
Slovakia
Czech
Russia and all post Russia countries ( Belarus, Kazachstan, Ukraine,Lavia, etc...)
Italy
USA and Canada - such a big potential for many managers...
Poland also, Hungary, and coutries where is hockey not so popular but maybe in Croatia, Serbia ... this is,i think, more important then that to have some new unecessary exotic coutries :)

i've said for years that there should be 10 thousand Canadians who play this great game. Think about how many people love fantasy hockey alone. But it is what it is.

Top hockey players from African countries or India?? :O it will go absurd. IRL you can't find 20 players from India to compete in lowest WC division, they prefer field hockey and were one of top countries once. It's already strange enough that Mexico has turned to one of top countries because of many second teams of top managers.

12:12:19, 01.12.20

That's the reason why we should focused on real hockey countries...😀

Thanks Trsto, did you forget the Finnish between German and Swiss, Swiss and France...etc :)

But to point. there isn't reason to make this exotic. If you get acquainted with the activities in different countries. Understand that countries should be united. But how to solve the problems that would arise from it.

21:40:27, 01.12.20

yes :D i didnt notice that Finland is there a twice :D

jetsdude 17:46:09, 30.11.20 i think we have too many countries already. some nat team elections get like 1 or 2 votes.

The whole problem with this is you don't allow B teams to vote.

I can understand some of the reservations about allowing b teams to vote but at the very least I think B team votes should be used a tie-breaker so in cases where no native managers vote the national team isn't doled out randomly.

I mean, for me, the whole point of B teams was giving these other countries some population.
Yet we can't - in our B team account - chat on the local forums, participate in elections, etc.

We can produce players for said team and that has resulted in better national teams, for sure.

At some point, I guess this whole situation needs to perhaps be re-assessed. Kill off these countries with less than three people and make it all one big international division, perhaps?
