Hello everyone,
I created a new HA account two months ago after having played it for several months back in 2005 (yes, really!).
It’s such a joy to rediscover this management game I used to play when I was younger.
Of course, some things have changed since then, and after looking through the guide several times, I’m still struggling to understand how the ‘scouting trials’ work.
If I’ve got it right, you have to enter the value (level or potential) you think the player has, and the estimates will be close to the exact value??
It’s a bit of a grey area for me because I’ve tried changing these values and nothing happens (for example, estimated potential 95, I set the value to 90 to see if it goes down, but nothing happens).
Could you please clarify this for me?
Many thanks
You only know now that his potential is less then 90%. Take a next scout to narrow it down.
Just keep in mind:
16y 100P=max
17y 94P
etc

Thank you.
I managed to get it working after a second attempt by changing the 'high' value.
As far as I understand, I need to try twice to find the exact value. Once for the low value, and once for the high value.
Thank you for your reply.
I'm getting back to you because I have another question.
It's still about scouting tests.
I have a player in my youth academy that I'd like to promote to the senior team, but he is already 16 years old.
When I try to promote him, I get a message telling me that I need to scout him with greater accuracy. This only concerns the Quality Index, not the Potential, which has already been verified.
I've already carried out several unsuccessful scouting attempts to determine his Quality , but I can't perform any more attempts even though I still have some remaining.
- Is scouting limited to one attempt per day?
- To determine the Quality , do I need to hit the exact value, or is an approximation (for example within ±2 or ±3 points) sufficient?
Thank you in advance for your answers.

There is no limit of scouting attempts per day. So if you still have attempts at hand, it should be possible to use them.
You need to hit the exact value in order to promote a 16-year-old player.
Thank you for your reply.
I've been trying different values persistently, but it still doesn't work, and the number of scouting attempts I have left doesn't change.
I even tried using a different browser, just in case, but I got the same result(

I unfortunately see no other option than you're inputting the wrong numbers or something.
So the basics: you have a player in your youth school whose info reads for example
?85(1-100) ?91(1-100)
The number with ? means very little.
So let's say you type in 90, so the info now reads one of three options:
ø90 or ?85(1-90) or the best one ?85(90-100).
First one you got it bang on. Second one you can do whatever, like kick him out.
The third one you can keep scouting. For example type in 94.
Now it might read ?85(90-94), so you know there's only three possible outcomes: 91, 92, 93.
Type in 92 which will get you a result either way, because you only have to get close, so 92-94 also reveals 93 and 90-92 reveals 91.
Potential works the same way, but instead of random numbers like 90, 95, 93 in the previous example, only use the possible potentials mentioned
