New version contains mostly bugfixes :
selling a player to a different league or firing him makes his star bonus decrease
merchandize discount limited to a maximum of 50% off buying price
star decorated players attract more fans to matches they are playing in
players injured shortly before their matches will play as if uninjured, leaving the lineups afterwards
subsequent vacations within a season allowed
marketing department limits the maximum weekly amount of sold merchandize - the ceiling is now 6.5 times the level of the department (was 2 times)
it is now possible to cancel a scheduled friendly match - click on a waste basket icon 
on the calendar where appropriate. (upto three days before the match is due)
